Shawn grew up in Franklin, Wisconsin.

He lives in Wauwatosa with his wife, Liz Heimerl-Rolland, and their two daughters and two dogs. Their son has moved out of the nest to attend UW-Milwaukee.

Shawn spends his "free time" taking in his kids' academic and athletic events, walking the dogs, volunteering for community causes, and grabbing dinner with Liz.

​

On the county board, he seeks to be a voice for strategic, evidence-based, data-driven, socially-progressive and fiscally-responsible decision-making.
